Seems like Tuesdays are the days for massive snow storms.
In March.
So if you are a bride, planning a winter wedding in the Midwest, screw December and January.

Shopping + Disney + Tango

I love last minute plans... They make for the best weekends.

Friday I went thrifting... (No surprise there - You can see my findings and new favorite song here)

Saturday morning, after another vicious fight with T-Mobile, my husband and I decided to jump out of our contract (early.. boo...) and bought brand new phones and switched to Verizon (YAY!) It was well worth it with what T-Mobile was coming up with.
(After being a customer of theirs for six years, I was done... I've never been so disappointed before in my life)
As much as I hate that the company won again, I *am* thankful for my new phone.  It's so refreshing to have something that won't freeze, won't yell at me that I'm "low on space", that isn't beat up and old.
I've been playing with it for hours.. Downloading apps that I've always wanted to download.  Sigh... It's the simple things in life.

One of my newest apps is Tango.  Its a lot like Skype and FaceTime.  Matt called me on Sunday while I was out with Katy.  I was upset that my Thrift Shop ringtone wasn't going off until Katy pointed out that the ringtone was Tango's.  So I answered and there my husband's lovely face was... waiting for me.
Best.app.ever!
I can't wait for more video chats...
He even called me today at work just because he wanted to see me.
{awwww}

After phone shopping, my husband went off to work as I headed to Katy and Mark's new home with burritos in tow... From a little ol' place called El Faro's.  Best.burritos.ever.

And K&M's house is so sweet!  I absolutely love it!  Driving to their house took me back down memory lane for when I lived out that way.  Maybe I will again in a few years ;)

On Sunday,  I picked up just a few things (two clearanced necklaces from Charming Charlies and Forever 21 and a thermal from VS - The long sleeved ones are $15 right now!)
Our time was cut short, so I am running back out tonight to a few stops we missed
(including a return to Forever 21 since I passed on a mustache necklace that I cannot stop thinking about... Silly me.)

{"M"/$4/Charming Charlie's- Layered Chain/$4.99/Forever21}

She went off to go watch the Superbowl.  I, on the other hand, went straight home and relaxed.
I don't get football.  I tried learning quite a few times but I'm still a bit totally clueless when it comes to downs/flags/tackles, etc.  I just can't seem to get into it.  But, give me a football movie, and I'm all over it.  (Remember the Titans and The Longest Yard, anybody?)

So, I put in The Princess and the Frog (Thank you, Katy!)
{Image found on Google Images}

Definitely a new favorite!  Louis, the gator, had me giggling and laughing uncontrollably.  Sigh..
I really had no idea what it was about...  except that Tiana turned into a frog...

How was the half time show?
I was too involved in the movie to switch to live tv. :)

And yes, I may have cried a bit durning P&F...
Shhh...

A Few New Things

I'm *in love* with this fur wrap/scarf!  I always wanted them but every year that comes and pass, I leave the store empty handed.  Probably because I have an overload of scarves as is, that I couldn't find the urge to purchase a new one.  However, these babies are clearanced out at Target right now for $5.98!  Comes in this lusious wine color and also a deep teal.  I bought one of each :)

You may have seen me debut this ring here.  Another clearance Target find, just a few days ago!  It reminds me of Beauty and The Beast <3

{There goes my symbolism again}

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!  I have a baby shower gift to wrap now ;)

Merona - Sleeveless Tie Neck Dress

A quick post for a quick steal!

Some of you know my love for Target...  I mean, what's not to love?

As I was looking at one of the bloggers I follow (I'm sure you have heard of her.. The Small Things) I was glancing at some older posts and spotted this one:

(Isn't she just a doll??)

I have "wedding" on the brain... I've been scanning her updos all morning :)

But let's take a minute and admire that dress of hers!!!!

It is an online only item, but it's under $21 right now!  (Most sizes are only $10.48 or $14.98!!)

If you have the Target card, BONUS, free shipping!

I love the color, the high neck, the length... Seems like a dress that can be worn a lot... To work, out to lunch with friends, parties.. It can be easily played up with accessories or left as is.  Perfect staple for any closet!

Snatch it up HERE!!

Puff.. Puff.. Puff..

When I was shopping at Target the other day, I scored this puffer coat for $2.46!  Don't believe me?  Here's the receipt!

It was an online only item that was returned to the store.  It was marked for $9.66 but when I went to check out, it rang for $2.46!  Cha-ching!!!  I always wanted a long puffer coat for the cold, windy days here, but didn't budget for one yet.  I was so giddy after this purchase!

Don't you just love the dramatic collar?  It's not a hood.. Just a puffy collar.  It's almost like a pillow!  I could nap in this coat...

If you love it and want it yourself, you can buy it HERE:

Taylor Swift Scarf Lookalike

When Target's brand, Missoni, came out with their zig zag phase, I wasn't all that impressed.  Maybe because my heart lies with the swing dresses and poodle skirts of the 1950's and not the big bell bottom flare pants of the 70's.

However, when Taylor Swift came out with her video for "Ours" I became *instantly* obsessed with her "zig zag" scarf.  I wanted it.  I needed  it.

On a quick run to Kohls (in which I picked up other cute goodies that I will share with you another time), I strolled around... When I was almost finished (scanning the mens stuff as well), I was about to dash to the checkout.  But then I remembered I wanted to check out the accessories for a watch or maybe, ahem,  a scarf. :)  Since summer is rushing in, I knew I can get a few steals.

Well, it was my lucky day!  As soon as I spotted the clearance rack this scarf stook out like it was out on a display all by itself.

If anyone was around me they might have heard me "yelp" with excitement.... and even more so when I saw the price!  It was mine, alright!

Here's the comparison.

Taylor Swift's:

And voila!  Mine:

Yup!  That's the actual price!  $2.80 baby!!!!  I may have even paid less since I had a coupon as well ;)

My love for Kohls continues.

A Hot, Hot Day

It's been a steamy hot weekend here.. Especially for being in May!  It's been in the mid 80's!

Now, you all may call me crazy with this post, but here me out. :)  I wanted to just dive in a pool and get some sun.  Relax, read, chill.  It's way too hot just to sit/lay out for me, and sadly we don't have a pool.  :(

Well, as we were doing our grocery shopping yesterday, it's like a sign from God just appeared before our eyes... A young mother was carrying a bright pink plastic kiddy pool!  (Don't judge...)  We both immediately lit up!  We checked it out and it ended up being $12.  Sadly, for how cheaply made it was, I didn't want to spend that much.  So we ran to Meijer, quickly, for a few things and decided to glance down their swim aisle.  To our surprise, they had a blue blow up pool for $10!  So, I jumped up and down with excitement as Matt put it in our cart.

He had to close that night and didn't have a chance to get it up for me.  I had my close friend stop by and as we were hanging out, getting DQ and playing video games, my brother in law arrived.  He got our air compressor working and blew that baby up!

I filled it with water yesterday so it had all morning to warm up for me today! :)

After running some errands today, I came home, jumped in my new bikini from Florida and hopped in!  Grabbing my kindle as well with the newest Sookie Stackhouse novel, Deadlocked, downloaded to it.

Tease me all you want, but that little gem was soooo refreshing!  I sat right on my deck, cooled off but still getting sun and read.  Sigh...  I think I'm a little too excited for this little pool.  Low maintenance, small but still big enough, and perfect for what we needed it to do.  And now I got a nice tan forming ;)

The only thing missing was a cute little "beach" table to keep my valuables out of reach, and maybe a drink. :)

I think you all should run and get one now if you do not have the pleasure of having a big pool nearby!  I nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed!

Retail Therapy

Do you ever feel your money slipping away even after you keep saving and saving and it never seems like you are catching up?  If so, that's how I felt.  It came to the point that I felt like I wasn't being "rewarded".. And that all my husband's and my hard work was just going to bills.  We even owed on our taxes this year, which still leaves us bewildered.  So I just needed to get out there and shop a little.  Retail Therapy.  I swear it works :)

I didn't spend a lot.  Just a few things that make me smile. :)

Skirt:  $22.80 (My splurge)
Top:  $8.99

Reason I found myself at Forever 21: I had to try this dress on that I spotted just a few weeks prior.

(Cell phone pic, excuse the graininess)

Isn't it just adorable!?  Sadly, it was too short for my taste.  If it was a tad bit longer, I would've bought this over the top two items.  I just love the pleated skirt, the maroon color with the tan polka dots... and the long, sheer sleeves!  I love finding dresses that I don't need to pair a cardi with for work.  Oh well, I'm glad I at least tried it on!  Maybe if my butt was smaller it would've been long... HA HA!

When the word "STEAL" is actually pretty awesome!

So, one of my all time favorite shops is New York and Company (or NY&Co.)  Great clothes, great prices.  Especially when things go on clearance!!

Tons of things are on sale right now, and I thought I'd share a few items that jumped out at me:

Striped Scarf - $3!!!!  Such a fun added accessory, and who doesn't love stripes??

Colored Faux Fur - $6.20!!!!  I just think this is so cute and fun!

Metro Mini Bag - $9.88.  Comes in multiple colors, but I'm loving this pop of orange!

Cutout Hem Trench - $25.99 - ACT NOW!!  This coat was available in beige, just this morning!  Apt. 9 at Kohls has a very similar one for $67!

Here's Kohls version:
Apt. 9 Eyelet Twill Trench Jacket
Find it here.

Faux Leather Coat -  $17.99 - I just love the edginess to it.. Paired with a great dress?  I'm weak in the knees!

Cascade Front Paisley Dress - $34.97 - So flowy and just perfect for Spring/Summer!

Striped Chiffon Top - $11.98 - I just love the colors and shape!

Poncho Sweater - $8.59  - I can just see any woman in this on her lounge day...  Perfect to just relax or run errands or even grab coffee with a friend.

Belted Trench Vest - $11.99 - So sophisticated!  I love the fact that it's a VEST, first off!  Some offices can get away with wearing just a tank underneath due to the broad shoulder of the vest.
Now, hurry!  Go shop and let me live through you, vicariously! :)
