Happy Distractions

I'm going through some real personal things right now and am trying to find every distraction I can to avoid thinking of it.

I apologize in advance if I'm cold, distant, or just not myself.  I'm trying to regain myself.  Please know I'm not ready to talk about this... Not yet.  I typed my little fingers off yesterday so this secret will be something I will share... Just not right now.

I wore this outfit just last week and it made me so happy.  I'm craving to be back to that part of me soon.

Enjoy!

Peach Dress: George (Wal-Mart)//Aqua Blazer: Candie's (Kohls)//Leggings: LC Lauren Conrad (Kohls)//
Boots: Madden Girl//Necklace:  Brand unknown

I'm still trying to figure out how to hide my remote that Matthew got me when taking photos... I'm such an amateur...Teehee.

Well, this lovely peach dress was a trade from Instagram.  And, Ladies, the brand is George.  That's Wal-Mart!  I was shocked!  Wal-Mart is stepping up their game!

The black necklace was also a part of a trade on Instagram.  I love it so much!  Figured it broke up the bright spring colors perfectly with my black leggings.  (You do not want to see whats hiding underneath those leggings... Not yet! :P)

Snow Bunny

Today is gloomy and I just want to stay curled up in my robe with my cup of coffee and read Insurgent.

This weather is definitely a "reading kind of day".

And with all the rain we're getting today, and the warmer weather we've been having, the snow is slowing melting away.

So, I figured I better squeeze this post in before it's all gone!  Considering these photos were taken just LAST WEEK!

Silly, Mother Nature...

This outfit was a challenge for me... I don't wear tights, and I feel like the colors don't mesh well with my skin tone.  But, I didn't care.  I was comfortable and felt like a snow bunny!
I just wanted to hop and skip around in the backyard.

Sweater: H&M, Skirt: Target, Tights: Wal-Mart, Oxfords: Trotters, Headband: Etsy

I'm pretty stoked for this warmer weather to finally kick in for good.  I want to be outside.  I need to get some color.  I want to ride my bike sporting my new basket that I still have yet
to put on my bike since September!

My inner Dorothy was stoked when my mother gifted it to me for my birthday!  Now, if only I had a puppy... Do you think I'll look silly with a stuffed dog chilling in my basket? Ha ha!
I'll stroll around with my Oz tunes blaring from my iPod.

My hair will be getting ready for Spring, too!  Come next weekend, my ombre will be making it's appearance!  Lauren Conrad, here I come!  I'm not a stalker... Really.. I'm just a little obsessed with you... Which doesn't make this sound any better... Hmph...  I'm digging your look and style?
Does that sound non-stalkerish and friendly?

This moment reminds me of a video Lauren (Yes, first name basis, here!) posted on IG last year.  It just fits with my outfit and the Solid Oldies I'm playing in the background.  Minus the fact that she was on a country road in the summer.  But, she was listening to a song from the forties.  And the simplicity of the video, the sound of the music made me want to be right next to her with a summer scarf wrapped around my hair, in a sundress paired with these oxfords.

I need to discover country roads around here so I can replay the scene for my own self being.

Hello March...

Here we are, March, and here is Mother Nature still trying to rain snow on our parade...

Daylight savings time is THIS Sunday!  That snuck up on us fast!!  I'm looking forward to having more light at night... Maybe I can make it past my 9 p.m. bedtime!

{Yeah, right!}

Well, all, there's a new Style Me March!  Woot!  I haven't finished Style Me Feb yet, but I was excited to see this challenge continue!

Here it is:

I'll play catch up this weekend since we're supposed to reach forty this Friday!!!

{You know you live in the midwest when you are excited about reaching forty degrees!}

I'm not going to lie to you, friends & family, I've been a lazy bum all winter.  I can't find any type of motivation anywhere... I've looked under rocks, under my bed... Nadda.  Hopefully when Spring peeks in, I'll be a little bit more productive.  If I'm not, someone needs to slap me!
Not too hard though... I bruise easily. :)

I've been enjoying my weekends lately!  Mainly because I've had nothing to do... Usually that makes me stir crazy, but with the husband being off on Sundays, we have been having Super Duper Lazy Sundays.  It's been pure bliss to share this with someone other than myself! :)

Did you all watch the Oscars?  The celebration for The Wizard of Oz was wonderful!!!  I only wish it was longer!!  Pink gave a great performance!  Not just anyone can sing this song... There's no doubt... But, she did a beautiful rendition, and it's ranked up there, in my opinion.

In case you missed it:

What did you think?

Since this is typically a fashion blog, I thought I'd share with you, "One Dress Styled Two Ways".  This was for the Vintage Vixen from Style Me Feb Challenge but after taking photos I became uncomfortable in the tights... I hate tights... And it was cold out this day... (like it's been every day)
