A Moment in My Day

This has been with me for the last two weeks....

Only two more days sitting at this desk, with this view, these people...

Amazing how something so small can have such a huge impact on you...

This is making the transition easier...  New clothes work clothes!!!! ;)

In all seriousness,

I've been with this company for what seems like forever...

When I was ending my senior year in high school, I worked here, part time...
I was there for over two years.

I decided then  it was time to move on.

But that time only lasted a short while...

I found myself coming back...
Coming back to my family.

I returned in 2007, and now in 2013,
after a long road traveled,
it's time for me to move on, for real.

I'm proud of myself.
I'm excited for new beginnings.

I know I will be just fine.

I know my coworkers will go on without me.

Getting there has been easy and very difficult.

Putting my notice in was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do...

But as the days passed, I knew I was doing the right thing.

I hate my job.  I've outgrown it.  I've been done.

Being my last week, and coming to an end,
I realize how much I'll miss seeing the faces of my friends, every day...
as we gush about Eric Northman, Dexter, Daryl, Ryan Gosling...
You name it.

And gossip about all our shows.
And all our books.

We've had such a great run and I'll always be forever grateful.

I know this isn't goodbye...  This is an "I'll see you later".

It's time to close this chapter and begin the next for a better life.

But some of my true friends will always originate from working here...
And that is something I'm truly thankful for.

  2. I was just in the same boat. I ended a 6.5 year teaching career and got a new job outside of teaching. I had also outgrown my job.

  3. This had got to be so bittersweet. I only kind of like my job, but LOVE the people I work with. I know in a year or two I will have to move on professionally but I hate to think about it! Best of luck in your new job!!

  4. I love those pretty clothes so much. I am starting a new job in a few weeks, in that sense it also feels like a new chapter of my life.

  5. What an exciting/scary time in your life! It's so hard to close chapters sometimes, but it's like you said "not a goodbye - an I'll see you later." Can't wait to hear more about this new chapter in your life!

  6. I love your new clothes girl! That sweater is especially adorable! I love the excuse of needing "work clothes". It's always hard to say goodbye to dear friends and co-workers you've known so long but It's always exciting starting somewhere new too! Congratulations!
