Granny Style

Yesterday started out great!
I had the whole day with the hubs!
That's pretty rare these days, so I was like a kid on Christmas morning!
I wanted to jump on the bed to wake him up, but I retracted that action of thought and brewed him a cup of coffee instead as I cooked breakfast.

Off topic, I just bought these mint oxfords at Target.
I don't think I can pull them off but I really don't care.
I felt like a Granny in them paired with my peach and floral blouse,
to top it off, my sunnies, but again, I didn't care.

I've been stalking these oxfords for months now.
To the point that four local Targets had them reduced to $5.68!
Of course, none in my size.

For the past two weeks I hit up my own Target to see if they have gone on sale yet.
Nope.
Still full price at $19.99.
So I ended up getting fed up and went to another Target,
bought them in a different color and different size for the $5.68
and then headed to mine (knowing they had my size) and exchanged them.
:) :) :)
I couldn't justify the $19.99 when I knew I could get them for $5.68.

I was pretty happy after I had them in my hands... errr.. on my feet?!

Isn't my necklace just darling?
This unicorn pendant was a charm on my Grandmother's bracelet.  My family knew how much I loved unicorns and how her and I shared that connection, so they gave me this charm with one of my Grandmother's gold chains.
It means so much to me and I love the daintiness of it.
It's one of my all time favorite pieces.

We started the day out with a few homes.

After seeing the first home of the day, it got warmer.
So I ditched the sweater but that didn't last long...
Since these homes were vacated, they all had such a cold/stale air.
Brrr...

I just loved this gazebo in one home!
As well as their iris'.

Iris' are huge in my family.... And when I saw these, I couldn't stop smiling...
I cannot wait to grow my own!

As the late afternoon progressed, it became rainy and chilly.

We had plans to go see Iron Man 3 so I just wanted to curl up.

I swapped my top for my new sweatshirt and was ready to go!

BTW, Iron Man was awesome!  A little disappointed it was released in May and not November/December...
It was set around Christmastime!

Being a Susy Snowflake, I am now craving the holidays and am tempted to put my tree up...

Christmas in July, anyone?

  1. You are so darn cute! You totally pull this look off!

And you are so smart the way you got your hands on those shoes. I'll def use that tip in the future!

    Love your outfit!

  2. I've been stalking those shoes too!! Why do they reduce some of the colors and not the others?? So frustrating! I love the mint and the tan/pink but all they have in my size at my target is the darker blue... Anyway, they look SO cute on you and I think you pull them off perfectly! I actually LOVE your outfit, but then, my Hubby tells me I like "grandma clothes" all the time :) This is totally something I'd wear though. I love your top and that cute sweater from ON. Iron Man 3 was awesome! Although I was a little thrown off by the Christmas thing too...
