Struggles

Story of My Life's Blog Challenge for the day is to share something I am struggling with.

What am I not struggling with?

I have a lot of positives in my life right now but even those positives are a struggle to maintain...

1. House Hunting

Seems like Matt and I just cannot agree.
We're not ready to give up yet :)

However, it's nice to soften the blow by distracting yourself
with other things in the process.
Like tracking down the ice cream truck :D
It was such a small diversion but perfect in the middle of what could be
(and has been) an exhausitng process.

2.  Settling into the New Position

My new job has so many perks!  In fact, the only thing I really struggle with is there's no Keurig. :)  I'm half tempted to buy the single cup and have it chilling in my cubicle. ;)

All seriousness though, it's a whole new crowd.
New responsibilities.
New tasks.

It's getting easier each and every day though.  So hopefully my struggles are almost over :D

Top: Old Navy, Jacket: Charlotte Russe, Jeans: Thrifted, Scarf: H&M, Purse: Target

3.  Time Management
With my training hours, and just training in itself, my sleep schedule is so off.
And I hate feeling like I'm missing so much.

Still trying to find a groove and I know once I'm settled I'll have the ability to make it work to my advantage.

4.  Romance
Matt and I are working opposite schedules.
He just recently switched and we thought, for sure, this would work out in our favor.
Although the stories are much more entertaining,
it's hard not being with him all the time.
Besides the fact that whenever we do have free time,
we're busy trying to keep our social life alive and/or working on our future (house hunting).
We need to just have "us" time but it's getting harder and harder.

There's a few deeper things I'm struggling with but I'm just not ready to share that just yet.
:) :) :)

If you are struggling with anything, big or small, make sure you have someone you can spill to.
I don't know how else I could trudge through it if I didn't have my support group.

  1. House hunting was tough for us too. I had realistic expectations while he just could not see the potential in some great houses. If we had a million dollars, it would not have been an issue. It resulted in an argument where I was just like, "I have been the one doing all the leg work and you just keep shutting everything down! This is our first home. We've seen houses that have some of the things you like and some of the things I like. This is our first home. We are not going to get everything we want. You do it. You go look at the house and if you like it, I'll then take a look because I am done!" We thought about the houses we looked at and decided that if any of them had the top 3 or 4 things each of us wanted, then we should seriously reconsider. 2 hours later we called the realtor and made an offer on our new home. At first, HH was really fun but towards the end of searching...stressful!

I hear you loud and clear about the sleep schedules and romance. For us, taking a 20 minute walk together is like a special event as opposed to a comforting regular occurrence. I just keep dreaming about that vacation time when we can really enjoy being together!

Sending some good HH, romance, and work flow vibes your way. And prayers for the deeper stuff you're experiencing.

PS-Your use of color just floors me. Love it!

  2. You are beautiful! Loving your outfit!

House hunting is so frustrating. But just know you'll find the right one. It will happen just stinks that it takes time. You'll get there.

Also sending you some good vibes for all that you're struggling with. I know you'll get through it all :)

  3. House hunting is rough, period. We bought our house two years ago and I still vividly remember the process. I hope all goes well with the search.

I'm with you on the opposite schedules and lack of couple time. My husband is working on his Honors thesis for his Bachelors degree and it takes up so much of his time. He graduates in early August and I can't wait to get back to a normal schedule.
